A group of carers from a local Dementia Centre of Excellence have raised almost £600 for the Alzheimer’s Society by completing the Nottingham Memory Walk on Sunday 19 September 2021.

The team of three care workers from Amber Wood Dementia Centre of Excellence based in Burton on Trent, which is owned and managed by GreenSquareAccord, joined almost 2000 other people to complete the 6km walk at Wollaton Park.

Kath Bagnall, Registered Manager of Amber Wood, who took part in the walk said: “We work closely with the Alzheimer’s Society and wanted to help support them by taking on the challenge of the memory walk and helping to raise funds and raise awareness.

“I’m incredibly proud of each and every member of my team who work hard every single day to offer the best care possible to our customers - my team really have gone the extra mile by taking part in the memory walk and collecting donations.”

Located next to Queen’s Hospital in Burton-on-Trent, Amber Wood provides specialist dementia residential care in a purpose-built environment. The service is currently welcoming new residents for both short and long stays.
