Accord Housing Association has won a prestigious award for its development of 13 homes in Wombourne, South Staffordshire.
Accord won the award for Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development, for its Oakwood Gardens development at the LABC West Midlands Building Excellence Awards on Friday (June 7).
Following last week’s success Accord is now a finalist in the same category at the LABC Grand Final, which takes place in November and will be held in London. The development compromises of bungalows and the properties were all made available for outright sales.
Alan Yates, Deputy Chief Executive at Accord said: “Oakwood Gardens is an ambitious and exciting development, and I am pleased that this award recognises that as an organisation we have excellent integrated project teams designing, manufacturing and building high quality homes for our customers.
“This development was designed by Accord’s talented in-house architects, InDesign and manufactured offsite at our offsite manufacturing factory, Local Homes in Walsall and built by our own Construction Team. I am delighted that this award recognises Accord’s commitment to building communities through high quality, innovative design and build.”
Peter Jones, Accord’s Site Manager at its Portobello development in Wolverhampton, was also highly commended at the LABC Warranty Site Manager Awards in the West Midlands category.
The LABC Awards are the largest business to business awards in the building control sector, and aim to recognise the quality in all types of building projects.
